1. Clean Heart – Psalms 73:1
Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
Let’s strive to have a pure and clean heart in us.
2. Fear of God – Those who fear God can enjoy His goodness in their lives. Joseph was found far away from sin – Genesis 39:9 “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” he says. Psalms 39:19,
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee..
His brothers did evil against him, but because Joseph loved God, he overcame that evil with goodness. The Word of God exhorts us to overcome evil with good.
3. Undefiled Life – Daniel purposed in his heart to follow God fully. How? by not making himself unclean with the king’s food- Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
God wonderfully delivered him. You know why? Because he had not defiled himself.
4. Faithful – The best example for this is Habakkuk. He stood steadfast in the Lord even during time of loss and unfruitfulness – Habakkuk 3:17-19
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Job also faced a similar situation in his life. He was a rich man. But in a single day, he lost everything he had except his wife. But look at what he says,
Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21
God’s blessings are enjoyed by those who love him wholeheartedly. These natures will be found in those who love him.
