3 basic laws of faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Every believer is called to live by faith. The Scripture in the New Testament is filled with believers who lived by faith. Jesus Himself showed us by example how to live by faith.

Nevertheless, even before beginning to live by faith, there are 3 basic laws every child of God needs to know. Let see what those laws are :

1st Law - Not I but Christ - Galatians 2:20. What does this mean? To live a life of faith, 'I' needs to be removed completely. 'I' refers to the self. People who do their own will cannot live a life of faith. Only a person who lives by faith can make a prayer of faith as well. They move from their inability to God's ability.

St.Paul in his epistle says, he lives by the faith of the Son of God. Those living by faith have their confidence only on God. The self does allow a person to be dependent on God. And so, such people cannot have a prayer life also.

When God created Adam, his dependency was totally on God. For everything. That's called faith life. But after he sinned, Adam stepped out of God's dependency and became independent. Therefore, sin makes a person independent and self-bound. This in turn brings unbelief.

Mark 9:23 - Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

2nd Law - No provision or protection for oneself - 1kings 17:10-16. This bible portion refers to an incident that took place between prophet Elijah and the widow of Zarephath. This lady had provision left for her and her child only. Elijah assured her that if she listened to him, her stock wont get over. The widow implicitly obeyed and acted on what Elijah had asked her to do. She didn't keep back anything for herself.

In the New Testament to, there is a similar case of another widow. This lady had two mites with her. She cast both pieces of money wholeheartedly, into the treasury without thinking what she would have the next day. God wants us to be like this widow woman.

A widow is someone who has lost her husband and does not have anyone to trust upon. When we are fully dependent on God and not on man, only then can we live by faith.

3rd Law - Speaking Faith. Speaking is required for faith to be perfected. Psalms 116:10 - I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: St.Paul also tells the same thing in 2 Corinthians 4:13 - We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.

This spirit comes through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Inorder to send our prayers into the heaven, we should have this speaking faith. The Word of God is life for those who hear and keep God’s word in their hearts. They will continue to have good health.

John 6:64 - The words that Jesus spoke are Life and Spirit. When we live according to the Word of God, we live by faith. Only the righteous can live by faith. May God help us to keep these basic laws in our hearts and minds and be worthy in His sight.

Be blessed 💕
