We learnt in the previous post about the power in the Holy Ghost, and what it really is for in a believer’s life. The second is, Love.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
We know God is Love (1 John 4:8).
We know that God’s love was actioned through Jesus (John 3:16).
We know love is shed in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5)
What does Paul say about Love in 1 Corinthians 13:3-8?
Each point is a sermon in itself. Please prayerfully read what’s almost impossible to explain in a few words.
- Love is patience,
- Love is kind;
- Love does not envy
- Love does not brag,
- Love is not puffed up,
- Love does not behave itself unseemly,
- Love does not seek her own,
- Love is not easily provoked,
- Love thinks no evil;
- Love does not rejoice in iniquity,
- Love rejoices in the truth;
- Love bears all things,
- Love believes all things,
- Love hopes all things,
- Love endures all things.
- Love never fails
A Christian judges self by these standards. God is gracious to those who abide in him.
