The name above all names, Jesus, is also called the Word of God. There are other names too. It is always a blessed experience to know more about our Saviour, isn’t it?!

Here’s the first part of this topic if you just wish to skim through.. Let’s take a peek at the second part:

What are the other names of Jesus, the word of God?

The Word of God Heals

Absolutely! His words are Words of healing. His Word can and is able to heal our spirit, soul and body. Jesus, while on earth, healed some of the sick by sending His Word.

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalms 107:20.

The Word is compared with Milk

God promised to lead the children of Israelites out of the land of Egypt to a land flowing with Milk and Honey. Milk refers to the Power of God and Honey refers to His Character. We need to desire the sincere milk of the Word and grow.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1Peter 2:2.

Compared with a Sword

One of the parts in the Armour of God is the Sword of the Spirit, that is, the Word of God. A believer always has his Sword ready. Jesus overcame the enemy (who came against Him in 3 ways, namely, with temptations of the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life), by using the Sword of the Word of God against Him. The Word is like a weapon given to us as well, to overcome everything that the enemy brings against us.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17.

His Word is Word of Testimony

In order to overcome the devil in our day today lives, we need to use the Word of God as a testimony against Him.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11.

Word of Christ

The more a believer secures the Word of God in his/her life, that much more victorious they will be during times of pain, sickness and troubles.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16.

A Lamp

The Word of God is a lamp to our feet. The work of a lamp is to give out light. God’s Word is compared with a lamp enlightening us by dispelling all darkness within.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalms 119:105)

Be ready, Jesus is coming very soon.
